Slope Groomer 1
Slope Groomers provide an outstanding experience for our guests by reshaping the ski runs to create a positive memorable skiing/boarding experience for our guest’s by “laying down corduroy” for the next day.
Essential Functions
· Perform pre start inspections; shut down procedures and complete all required documentation.
· Working mostly at nights pushing snow from areas of accumulation to areas that need coverage, working in the terrain parks, as well as hauling, moving or repositioning industry type equipment and implements
· Will have read the PB manual and become knowledgeable with the manufacturers’ standard operating procedures of all machinery operated and complete documentation required
· Report all incidents and near misses immediately to your shift supervisor; this includes all injury accidents, close calls, property damage, or other reportable incidents.
· Will have read, understood and signed a copy of the Cat Crew Manual
· Adhere to all Corporate policies and procedures and all Maintenance standard operating procedures for the safe operation and proper maintenance of all vehicles
· Perform clearing and snow accumulation maintenance of buildings entrances, lift terminals (load/unload), Gondola terminals or other areas, as and when required
· Develop and maintain a positive working relationships with all departments
· Ability to identify improper, inadequate, or poor quality grooming and how that might relate to risk management issues
· Understand and strive toward departmental goals and objectives as laid out by Supervisors
· Ability to follow instruction that comes from the daily meetings or is written in the Grooming List for the shift; report all short-comings with explanation
· Keep your assigned cat clean and tidy for the next operator
· Identify, contain, mitigate and report all fuel leaks according to the Fuel Management Program
· Complete general maintenance to machines before, during or after shift including but not limited to changing: lights, grouser bars, track guides and tires
· Ability to identify improper, inadequate, or poor quality grooming and how that might relate to risk management issues
Experience/Requirements
· Previous mountain operation and/or heavy equipment operation experience preferred
· Mechanically inclined
· Clean driver’s license
· Self-motivated, responsible and open minded
· Capable of working alone or with others
· Able to work flexible hours particularly at night

· Will have read the PB manual and become knowledgeable with the manufacturers’ standard operating procedures of all machinery operated and complete documentation required
· Report all incidents and near misses immediately to your shift supervisor; this includes all injury accidents, close calls, property damage, or other reportable incidents

Experience/Requirements
Slope groomers reshape the ski runs on the mountain at night using highly sophisticated machinery. Starting in November, the tasks include compacting new snowfall caught is snowfencing, building ski slopes and maintenance during the regular season, pushing snow from areas of accumulation to areas that need coverage, working in the terrain parks., as well as hauling, moving or repositioning industry type equipment and implements. Working mostly shift work at night the goal is create a positive memorable skiing/boarding experience for our guest’s by “laying down corduroy” for the next day.
Senior level position
Based upon the mastery of the Driver I& II position or equivalent knowledge and experience
Includes the operation of snow grooming machinery in a safe and competent manner to compact new snowfall; maintain, rebuild, and renovate the more difficult- steeper slopes
Detailed knowledge of grooming patterns, methodology and terrain required.
Provide the highest quality grooming possible that is both fall line and coordinated with all other grooming
Under the direction of the Cat Crew Supervisor or the Assistant; Shift Supervisor
Detailed knowledge of winch cat operations
Essential Functions
· Arrive to work on time, rested, and ready for your shift- dressed appropriately, wearing approved protective footwear
· Perform pre start inspections; shut down procedures and complete all required documentation.
· Will have read the PB manual and become knowledgeable with the manufacturers’ standard operating procedures of all machinery that you operate and complete documentation that shows its completion
· Report all incidents and near misses immediately to your shift supervisor; this includes all injury accidents, close calls, property damage, or other reportable incidents.
· Will fill out all required paperwork fully and properly
· Will have read, understood and signed a copy of the Cat Crew Manual
· Will be required to attend a Cat Crew Orientation
· Operate winch on any slope assigned to them
· Adhere to all Corporate policies and procedures and all Maintenance standard operating procedures for the safe operation and proper maintenance of all vehicles
· When directed, perform clearing and snow accumulation maintenance of buildings entrances, lift terminals (load/unload), Gondola terminals or other areas, as and when required
· Maintain a positive working relationship with all staff and assist other departments as and when required
· Be able to identify improper, inadequate, or poor quality grooming and how that might relate to risk management issues that if left unchecked could injure public, staff or fellow operators; report all instances to Shift Supervisor and document
· Understand and strive toward departmental goals and objectives as laid out by Supervisor and/or Slopes Supervisor
· Be able to follow instruction that comes from the daily meetings or is written in the Grooming List for the shift; report all short-comings with explanation
· Keep your assigned cat clean and tidy for the next operator
· Identify, contain, mitigate and report all fuel leaks according to the Fuel Management Program
· Take direction from the Senior Slope Supervisor and Mountain Operations Manager
· Do general maintenance to machines before, during or after shift including but not limited to changing: lights, grouser bars, track guides and tires.
Experience/Requirements
· Mountain operation experience and/or heavy equipment operation experience
· Proficient in all grooming operations
· Has 4000+ hours in grooming experience
· Has approximately 1500-2000 hours in winch cat operation
· Mechanically inclined
· Valid drivers license
· Self-motivated, responsible and open minded
· Capable to work alone or with others
· Able to work PM and AM shifts and odd hours
· Physically healthy and enjoys skiing or snowboarding
· Is able to sit for prolonged periods over a shift- adept at steering the snowcat with the left hand while manipulating the front blade control with the right.
· Can function in a variety of winter conditions to clear ice and snow from the machine, perform pre-trip maintenance and post trip
preventative maintenance.
