The resort care day attendant position is broadly split into two main components that are site specific. Attendants are hired with the intention of having them work in both the Tot Town Daycare, which is a licensed daycare facility (children ages 18 months to 5 years) and in the Kids Centre (children 4 - 12 years of age). The schedule runs on 3 days in one area one week, 2 days in the other area, then reversing the following week.
Position Requirements: Please note that prior to hiring we are required by our daycare licensing officer to have resort care day attendants provide the following:
Recent Criminal Record Check (within 3 months from application date)
Valid First Aid Certificate
Proof of Age (to satisfy the 19 years of age requirement)
Completion of a course, or a combination of courses, of at least 20 hours duration in child development, guidance, health and safety, or nutrition.(Copy of transcripts must be provided)
Non Canadian residents must have a valid work visa with child care exclusions removed*
*At the time of making a visa application, applicants have to indicate they wish to have the child care exclusion removed, provide an approved doctor’s medical form and a criminal record check.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise, monitor and care for the needs of all children at the Tot Town Daycare
Ensure proper numbers of spaces and numbers of children do not exceed the licensing requirements
Create an environment where all children feel welcome and safe
Be an appropriate role model for young children to pattern their behaviour and manners
Ensure all information and paper work related to children’s safety is completed (completed enrollment forms, allergy awareness, sign-out by authorized persons)
Immediately inform Inside Coordinator or Assistant Director of any potential dangers/hazards
Assist with children’s hygiene and toileting routines (e.g., hand washing, diaper changing)
Constantly communicate with other staff regarding children’s needs (medication, allergies, parents requests)
Supervise children unable or unwilling to participate in lessons
Size and rent ski/snowboard equipment for children
Implement and participate in the daily program of activities
Be familiar with all discipline, behaviour and emergency policies and procedures provided by the Supervisor
Complete assigned daily tasks as required (cleaning/tidiness, registration, assist with other program areas)
Act as a liaison between parents and supervisor on a daily basis ( communicating concerns, improvements to procedures, recommendations for activities)
Provide general information on facilities at Big White Resort
