The City of Cambridge is looking for qualified Fitness Instructors to join our team during our WINTER Programming starting in January. We are looking for instructors qualified to teach any of the following but not limited to:

What you will be doing
Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating lessons for all levels of participants
Keep current with industry trends and class form
Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports)
Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
Participates in training/in-service as required, occasionally outside of regular working hours.
Qualifications and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of a nationally recognized Fitness Instructor or Personal Training, or other relevant certifications required depending on the program selected
1 plus years related Group Fitness Instruction or related experience in one or all of the following formats/styles of class.
Current Standard First Aid, CPR C, AED
Strong, professional leadership qualities that help motivate and encourage participants is required.
Proven experience planning, implementing and supervising youth in groups.
Experience working with all ages in a fitness setting;
Outgoing, enthusiastic and energetic personality;
Self-Motivation and able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.

Current and valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Rate of pay
The hourly rate for this position will vary pending qualifications; however, will be within the hourly range of $15.00 to $40.00 depending on qualifications and experience.
Hours of work
Must be available to teach evenings and weekends, daytime hours is an asset but not required. The Number of hours will dependent on the number of participants taking part in our programs; as such, there are no minimum hours associated with this position.
