Mechanical Engineering Student
The Waste Services Branch at Chalk River Laboratories carries out all types of engineering work. This would include new buildings or retrofitting older facilities or providing solutions to outdated equipment. This opportunity is for a mechanical engineering student to contribute to a team that is designing and assessing engineering needs in the field of Nuclear Liability Management.
- Contribute to design concepts and detailed design calculations, CAD and Finite Element modelling.
- Assessment and procurement of commercial items.
- Analysis of data and technical report writing.
- Addressing contractor questions on design.
Applicants should be Mechanical Engineering students (or similar discipline such as Aerospace). Good knowledge of mechanical systems and solid mechanics is required. Hands on experience in a lab or industrial setting is an asset. Knowledge of or experience in a machine shop setting is an asset.
