Course Description:

HSS6105 Mixed Methods Research and Analysis in Health Sciences: Study of mixed methods research in health sciences, focusing on integrating qualitative and quantitative approaches to tackle complex health questions. Topics include designing studies, data collection and analysis, and synthesizing findings for comprehensive insights. Emphasis on practical skills, ethical considerations, and rigorous research to inform evidence-based practice.

Requirements:

  • Hold a PhD in Health Sciences or a related field, or be currently enrolled in a PhD program in a relevant field and have completed doctoral coursework.
  • Have university-level teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level.
  • Demonstrate recent and meaningful engagement in research or related scholarly activity relevant to the course, as evidenced by publications, conference presentations, participation in funded research, science communication, knowledge mobilization, or other scholarly contributions.
  • Have demonstrated expertise in mixed methods research in the health sciences, including the integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches to address complex health questions.
  • Have experience applying mixed methods study design, data collection, analysis, integration, and interpretation in health research.

This course is delivered in a hybrid format and requires a minimum of75% in-person instruction.
