Job Purpose and Impact

The General Laborer I, will perform routine and repetitive physical production and warehouse responsibilities following established policies and procedures with frequent guidance. In this role, you will support production operations while following all food safety and regulatory polices as required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform repetitive positioning of materials and parts for production per direct instructions.
  • Convey materials and items within production and warehouse areas other designated areas by hand, hand truck or electric hand truck.
  • Lift and stack materials, products, tools or equipment.
  • Hand pack product into materials.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Performing facility operations such as receiving and shipping products, which may include fertilizer, chemicals, seed, and grain
  • Basic maintenance and operator care of equipment to ensure ongoing facility operations
  • Providing excellent customer service and engaging with team members
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
  • Possess a valid Canadian full class 5 driver’s license in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during your employment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic use of a computer
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment (forklift, skid steer)
