Job Description What is the opportunity? The Quantum technologies intern will join the fast-paced, multi-disciplinary Innovation Group at RBC to explore where quantum technologies can augment finance capabilities to bring impact and advantage. We are seeking blue-sky thinkers who want to determine true applicability of their ideas in a wide variety of quantum fields to the financial sector. Those who are interested in learning about the intersection of quantum technologies with finance are encouraged to apply. This is a small, new team so self-driven candidates are a must. What will you do? Participating in experiments and theory development towards proof of concepts of financial applications of quantum technology Developing either algorithms, protocols, sensors, or networking techniques depending on your skill sets Researching and determining successful applications for quantum technologies for finance Benchmarking performance and documenting research and outcomes Collaboration with external vendors and university partners on research Supporting the broader Innovation team as needed What do you need to succeed? Must-have Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Math in Computer Science (Quantum Information), or MScAC in Quantum Computing or equivalent Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written) Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of programming and scripting languages - Python Communication, Time Management, Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement, Analytical Thinking, Problem Solving, Results Driven, Curiosity, Strategic Thinking Nice-to-have Understanding of IT Standards, Methodologies (SDLC, PMF) Knowledge of Business Analysis Processes (requirements gathering, documentation, use cases) What’s in it for you? Requirements

Applicants must be enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution in a relevant mathematics or computer science program focused on quantum information, or in an MScAC quantum computing program or equivalent. They should have Python programming or scripting knowledge, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be creative, analytical, self-driven, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
